WHEREAS, United States Revised Statute 2477 allows state or local governments to accept roads crossing federal lands as public roads, and

WHEREAS, the New Mexico Territorial Legislature in 1905 enacted such acceptance as law, Section 67-2-1, NMSA, 1976 Compilation, making all roads in New Mexico crossing federal lands public roads, and

[Optional]WHEREAS, portions of the (Example Road(s)) in ________________ County, New Mexico cross(es) federal lands and was (were) in existence prior to the federal reservation of those lands, and[Optional]

WHEREAS, members of the public have requested that ______________ County accept such all roads as public as a re-affirmation and restatement of the 1905 territorial law,

NOW, THEREFORE, the _____________________County Commission does hereby RESOLVE that all roads in _____________ County that were in existence prior the federal reservation of those roads’ subservient estates are hereby DECLARED to be public roads.
